Terms & Conditions

These terms govern your use of Rootvest Finance (the "Service"), a finance-management application operated by Rootvest Ltd. ("Rootvest", "we"). By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these terms.

1. The Service

Rootvest Finance lets you record and organise financial information for your business or personal use — expenses, revenues, investments, accounts, assets, inventory, and related records — inside one or more workspaces. The Service is currently provided free of charge. We may introduce paid plans in the future; existing data will never be held hostage to a price change.

2. Your account

• You must provide accurate information and keep your credentials secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
• Workspace founders control who can access a workspace and with what role. Inviting someone gives them the access their role implies.
• You must be legally able to enter into this agreement in your jurisdiction.

3. Your data

• The financial records you enter belong to you and your workspace. We do not sell them, and we access them only to operate the Service or with your permission.
• You can export your entries as CSV at any time.
• Deleting an entry is a soft delete kept for restore and audit purposes; workspace founders can restore within the retention window.

4. Acceptable use

Do not use the Service for unlawful activity, attempt to access other users' data, disrupt the Service, or upload malicious content. We may suspend accounts that do.

5. No financial advice

The Service records and computes figures from the data you enter. Breakdowns, profit, ROI, amortization, and similar outputs are informational calculations — not accounting, tax, investment, or legal advice. Verify important figures independently.

6. Availability & liability

The Service is provided "as is". We work to keep it reliable and your data safe, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability and, to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses arising from use of the Service. Keep your own copies of critical records.

7. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time and request account deletion. We may terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination we delete or anonymise your personal data as described in the Privacy Policy.

8. Changes

We may update these terms; material changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
