This policy explains what Rootvest Ltd. ("Rootvest", "we") collects when you use Rootvest Finance, why, and what control you have over it.

1. What we collect

• Account data — name, email, optional phone, photo, and language preference.
• Workspace data — the financial records you and your team enter: entries, accounts, projects, inventory, workforce records, notes, and chat messages.
• Attachments — receipt photos, videos, and files you upload.
• Technical data — authentication tokens and minimal logs needed to run and secure the Service. We do not run third-party advertising or tracking.

2. How we use it

• To provide the Service: storing your records, computing breakdowns, syncing your team's activity.
• To send transactional email — workspace invitations and a welcome message — via our email provider. We do not send marketing email without consent.
• To keep the Service safe: enforcing workspace permissions and keeping an audit trail of financial changes.

3. Where it lives

Financial records are stored in MongoDB Atlas; authentication, chat, and uploads use Google Firebase (Auth, Firestore, Storage); transactional email is delivered by Resend. These providers process data on our behalf under their own security and compliance programmes.

4. Who can see your data

• Members of your workspace, according to the roles a founder assigns (investors, for example, get read-only financial views).
• We never sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except the processors above, or where the law requires.

5. Cookies

We use only functional cookies/storage: your session, language choice, and interface preferences (like theme). No advertising cookies.

6. Your rights

• Export your workspace entries as CSV at any time.
• Edit your profile data in the app.
• Request account deletion by emailing us; we delete or anonymise your personal data, except records another workspace legitimately retains (for example, entries you recorded for a business you left) and what we must keep by law.
